What have you finished reading?

Cascade (The Sleep of Reason Book 1 by Rachel A. Rosen - I loved this book, especially as i slipped deeper into my depression. My anxiety about the world. All that. Its clearly reflected here and its obvious the author has the same existential dread and wish that they could /do something/ that I have.

It has some of the problems I think a lot of first-time/small-time published authors have: its verbose. The analogies, the similes, that shit is like poetry. And, it also means I have to sometimes re-read major plot points so I understand what happened. Sometimes I'm just making sure I understood, while sometimes I literally do not understand until I read the paragraphs again. It didn't detract from my enjoyment though, and I excitedly await the second book.

What are you currently reading?

Fourteen Poems Issue One - Edited by Ben Townley-Canning - I was bothered by my collection starting at the second issue, so I bought the first one from the UK lmao. Its poetry, which is always hard to talk about. I've often thought about just not including poetry since i have nothing to say really, but its nice to track what I'm reading.
