What have you finished reading?

The Women's House of Detention: A Queer History of a Forgotten Prison by Hugh Ryan (Author) - God I feel like I finished this a decade ago. I'm glad I finished it. I learned a lot about something I knew nothing about. But it was triggering and heavy as hell.

14 poems issue 8 - Its poetry! But this may be my favorite one yet.

Cats! Purrfect Strangers and Girlfriends and Catfriends by Frederic Brremaud (Author), Paola Antista (Illustrator), Cecilia Giumento (Illustrator) - Its like garfield, but less funny. Definitely the speed I wanted though.

Outcast by Kirkman & Azaceta Volume 3: This Little Light, Volume 4: Under Devil's Wing, Volume 5: The New Path by Robert Kirkman (Author), Paul Azaceta (Artist), Elizabeth Breitweiser (Artist) - this remains on the level of good-not-great. lots of demons and maybe theres... angels or something? idk. its kept my attention but I'm only buying it second hand.

LaGuardia by Nnedi Okorafor (Author), Tana Ford (Illustrator) - an immigration story with aliens instead of... aliens... With a big dash of afrofuturism. I really enjoyed this. The world felt really fleshed out for a 4 issue run.

What are you currently reading?

Cruel Summer by Ed Brubaker (Author), Sean Phillips (Artist), Jacob Phillips (Artist) - This is an amazingly paced crime noir comic. But I've been taking nyquil to sleep so ive been reading it a little slowly. It has a very cliche femme fatale, that I hope bucks the stereotype soon.
