What have you finished reading?
In Limbo by Deb JJ Lee (Author) - This really was a fantastic graphic novel, YA or not. It really hits the spot about, you know, growing up, depression, and feeling like you're othered.
Murder Falcon by Daniel Warren Johnson (Author, Artist) - Another slam dunk. This graphic novel is about a guy Goin Thru Some Shit and then gets a legendary guitar that summons Murder Falcon and they gotta play metal to save the world. It was surprisingly heart rending and just great all around. probably one of the best things ive read this shitty year.
Bone Orchard Mythos: The Passageway by Jeff Lemire (Author), Andrea Sorrentino (Artist) - My review varies if there is going to be more of this. The whole "mythos" thing implies theres supposed to be more than one book... but its been over a year without a second. If this is it, on its own, its kind of a mess. I had hoped for a couple more to flesh it out. Also, its like the size of a single issue, which also feels like extortion for a choppy story. idk. its fiiiine.
Night Sky with Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong (Author) - Its poetry! Id say its "not as good" as Time is a Mother, but it also has a lot of unique familial trauma that I cannot begin to truly fathom. Still its beautiful.
Camp Spirit by Axelle Lenoir (Author) - Another comic, this time about camp counsellors and a spooky camp secret. I feel like the beginning of the comic could have been pared down quite a bit. Also, it has a lesbian relationship in the early 90s where... that would have not even been remotely socially acceptable. Why have the comic be in the 90s at all, except to name drop some grunge bands. idk. good not great.

by Marty Cagan (Author) - Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is not my normal reading affair. Its for a work book club, and mercifully its a very quick and easy read. product management is interesting to me, although i don't know that i exactly want to get into that. Still, once the AI bots take over technical writing it may be one of the last places I can go...
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow: A novel by Gabrielle Zevin (Author) - I haven't even gotten through the first chapter, but Z really enjoyed this, so I'm looking forward to it, even though literally everyone I know is reading or has read this book.
