I'm back to reading a normal amount, finally. And it feels good to finally feel like i'm /reading/ again.
What have you finished reading?
Sea of Stars Volume 1: Lost in the Wild Heavens by Jason Aaron (Author), Dennis Hallum (Author), Stephen Green (Artist), Rico Renzi (Artist) - good, not great. There's a ton of allegories to our world from this sci-fi world, so I am assuming the child is actually fighting a disease or something. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, but i'd check out the next trade from the library.
My Solo Exchange Diary Vol. 1 (My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness) by Nagata Kabi (Author) - I didn't realize how many more comcis she has written. It really is just more about her loneliness and depression. Its pretty relatable with what I'm experiencing right now.
What are you currently reading?
Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds by Adrienne Maree Brown - back on the wagon. Just finished the chapter on nonlinear and iterative organizing. She focused a lot on the Occupy movement which was kinda weird to me because we're on the other side of it. And while it was decentrally organized, it also felt like it didn't accomplish much, but I can only say that on the other side. Id love to maybe see an example of the 2020 autonomous zones instead. but its still good shit.
All About Love: New Visions by bell hooks (Author) - This has come back around again. The last couple chapters I'd read on romance and mutuality have been really good. Loss has as well. This is a great book, although I'd probably gut some of the middle chapters. Its still been real good for me.
