this is my first post here thats, like, a real post. Normally I'd be writing in a .txt file. I called it txt-j, which is kind of cute, but mostly kinda stupid.
This week was kind of weird, and threw me off my rhythm. A friend of mine's dad passed away. They're probably my closest Austin friend. We have a ton in common and we hang out all the time. So I drove around picking up luggage from another friend so they could borrow proper luggage. Also, just, you know, texting them through stuff. My phone is off vibrate for the first time in years. This is because, so, like they hadn't met any of this side of the family. So I said if things went bad, I'd get them in touch with my Lexington pals, [their dad was in Louisville KY] so they can be safe. And while they both have each other's, like, social media, id still be the point of contact if stuff goes south. I'm glad to be able to coordinate it. But so far, its gone well for them. Im glad to help. It also brings up sad feelings sometimes. a dad dying is never fun. As most of you know, I have a phd in the field.
Went to the gym for silks. and man, i forgot that its a new year, which means, like, the gym is PACKED with all these new folks. On the one hand, it slows everything down, on the other hand, its nice to not be alone. i always disliked the me+teacher days. also, kind of a bitchy thought, but sometimes theres people, like, okay, if its your first time in an aerials class, you should be in intro silks. not silks 1. whatever.
Friday Z wanted to go to a brewery up north. It was a little crowded and loud. After that, he decided since we were up there to go to one we hadnt been to before. It was a lot more chill. We wound up chatting with a buncha people there. Everyone was really nice. Kept getting free big pours of beer though >.> I was definitely drunk. And woke up with a hangover :\ Bah.
Saturday wasn't too much. I got up early, got cat food and hangover tacos. Z worked, I tried to play DDR and sweat off the hangover. {oh thats new. I have a DDR hard pad and I play, like, a lot}. watched football. We were supposed to meet Z's cousin at a really busy brewery called pinthouse pizza and watch the pats football game. But he first was running late, and two hours later decided he didnt want to come down. Kinda peeved about all that. Oh well.
Sunday I made chili and we watched that crazy Saints game with david. He's sad about the loss. after that, Z and I just went grocery shopping and went home. he almost met up with his cousin again, but i think we were already both kind of over it.
thats pretty much the week thus far. between people talking about the "aziz thing" [keep it vague to avoid cw/tw stuff] and sabrina's dad dying i've been surprisingly strong, although exhausted emotionally.
oh, and we're about to get an ice/snow storm which is annoying. like, this'll be the third time it snowed in texas this year. which is strange. it makes me want to move to costa rica because i didn't move to texas to get snowed on 3 times in one year.
i guess thats it for now.
