Jul. 5th, 2018 10:53 pmHey dw. its been a busy week. I've been trying to update you since, fuck, Monday probably.
Lets see.
Thursday I went to see a Global Threat. I went by myself but it was just a lot of fun. I saw Big Mike and we really got to chat and I bought him a beer. We talked about our experiences leaving the xian punk scene. Itd been so long since I got in the pit but man I went in and threw down. I had a blast. I made some temporary show friends too. What a blast. I walked home and I was just real happy.
Friday Kirt was in town and so was Shane. After I got off work we went to Oddwood since they were doing a beer release with (z's brewery). The beer was good and we also opened some cans with with everyone. That night Landon got into town but I was so tired (i went to bed late and inexplicably got up early) I just had Z drop me off so I could sleep.
Saturday was the boat party. We spent most of the day running pre-errands: getting snacks, getting crowlers, going to black star. That day, especially the drive up to the boat, i was just hit with a mountain of anxiety. it felt occasionally almost unbearable. i kept worrying someone was going to die or something.
Boat party was fine and no one died. even with drinking, i was anxious but powered through. The waves were really choppy, so I didnt swim much. But I chatted and drank and stuff. I got some great presents. Landon and Tessa got me a rainbow backpack/purse which is really cool. i got a gift card to half price books and some other stuff im p sure like a cat-crab kaiju. I got one of my presents from Z: a metroid which was really cool! it fits on my tiny head. Even tho i kept telling ppl on the boat to open up crowlers, people were apprehensive. next time ill prolly do less crowlers for a party
i was p drunk got home and slept about an hour and half. then i was up for fucking 6 hours with just an /overwhelming/ feeling i did/said something i needed to be ashamed of but i didnt know what. i kept thinking someone should have died on the boat. i really dont know where all this came from but it was overwhelming at the time. i fiiiinally got back to sleep by looking at kitten videos and just, trying to calm myself down.
Sunday we went out to Treaty Oak and then Jester King. Everyone was p tired, so Shane and Z stayed home but I met up with Miku (!!) at cheer up charlies. Miku was my roommate for, like, a couple months at one point, and is a friend from back home. he recently moved back to milwaukee. we got to catch up which was just so so nice. It was really special. I love the whole 'clash of worlds' thing when someone (finally) comes to visit. He was actually down for an achewood ( a webcomic) convention which was pretty fuckin random.
Lets see. Monday and Tuesday I worked. Tuesday evening we opened up some beers at aaron and alys.
Wednesday, the fourth, we had a brewery grill out. but a bunch of ppl didnt show up because it was on and off storming all day. tbh we still had a blast. when it stopped lightening, we'd go in the pool and hot tub- no problem! We invited all our friends in town. Good thing we invited them or the party would have been pretty sparse. We got back p early because Z , Landon, and Phil all flew our super duper early this morning. They actually all slept over so they could get a lyft together.
Its my first night without Z. I saw the mighty mighty bosstones tonight. Oh man, I had a blast. One of the opening acts had to cancel so it was just 2 bands. I danced a ton and just danced with so many strangers and hugged everyone afterwards and, man, ska might be able to save the world. also, someone thought my sami zayn shirt was, like, a real band and Im like "oh heres my wwe belt fanny pack" and they were swiftly like "oh but i like yr plugs" and pointed to a checkered bow. Oh. it set in they just like my ska-band-lookin-shirt-even-tho-its-for-a-wrestler. im only wearing this shirt to ska shows for here on out lmao
but yeah, i feel really good. best i have since last show i went to a week ago. i hope i dont get overwhelming anxiety again tonight like i did last week! hopefully it was a fluke.
Z is gone the rest of this weekend. I dont have too many other plans this weekend. My mom comes in at some point. Sunday or monday? idk. I hang out with Sabrina tomorrow.
what a busy week! next week is also a little busy. And then on the 13th we go on vacation! to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. I am so pumped for vacation. Oh and my birthday is on the 12th :)
