Was blind but now I see.
Jun. 2nd, 2019 08:28 pmHey, its been a while. It wasnt intentional but stuff kept happening.
Two weeks ago, I started coming down with a weird cold. Except I didnt exhibit any symptoms like sneezing or a runny nose. My tonsils and lymph nodes were swollen, I kept either feeling feverish or got the chills, and i was T I R E D. Like really tired. It really reminded me of when I had mono in high school.
So, I basically did nothing except sleep and work. did some reading, played pokemon mystery dungeon. But mostly if I wasn't working, I was sleeping.
Like I think Rachel came over one night. But I basically said "hi" and went to sleep. lol
On Friday, I had already bought tickets to see Robby in Terminator: The Musical. I wasn't going to not go. So I did muster enough spoons to watch the show. But afterwards Z, Kirt, and Justin went out for drinks and I just went to bed again. Terminator: The Musical was funny as hell. Robby knocked it out of the park. I loved it.
On Saturday I was still feeling sick but I did go to Davids to watch AEWs Double or Nothing. What a great PPV. I had a good night, but basically only had the energy to socialize. But still: I could socialize. So I was playing it by ear if I was going to hang out with Z that Sunday.
Sunday I decided I was on the mend enough to go swimming with Z over at Corey's place. I wore contacts. This is important lol. It'd been a while since I wore contacts all day but felt swimming would be as good of a time as any. We had a good time over at Corey's. We ate, drank beers, swam, and then played some vidya games. By then my eyes were feeling mighty dry but Z wanted to stick around. I kept putting saline solution in my eyes to try and help but they were hurting me. So I asked Z if we could come home early because my eyes were really hurting.
So we got home, and I took out my contacts. It was a normal night after that, although i kept seeing halos around everything. But I went grocery shopping, played pokemon mystery dungeon, and read mostly fine, although my eyes felt sore. I figured I'd be fine in the morning.
Memorial day I wake up and I can't see jack shit. I open my eyes and its like fire. I try to drop in saline and it burns like hell.
Its memorial day. and no eye doctors are open. Basically only an ophthalmologist can help me. And I can't see anything at all. I'm panicky because I cant use my eyes. Its scary!
Oh and Z was planning on going down to the greenbelt to swim and drink beers. People had already come over and I didnt want to stop him. So i told him to go on. All I could really do was listen to music and talk on the phone and try to keep calm till tomorrow.
So yeah idk Z was gone for like 6 hours and I listened to music and laid down a lot. I might have napped. I might not have. It was really hard to figure out since my eyes couldn't be open when I was awake.
I called Z a lot in the last hour because I really wanted him home. But he didnt hear his phone. But he did eventually come home. That night I listened to the stanley cup game but I dont even know any of the players names so i was in the dark most of the time. Z sort of gave me a better descriptions when exciting things were happening.
Tuesday I had to call into work and I went to the eye doctor as soon as they could get me in. The eye doc made me put in dye in my eyes and look at them. Keeping my eyes open was excrutiating. But the doctor confirmed what I had thought: My contacts scratched my eyes again.
Now, this happened to me once before on Halloween, so only 6 months ago. But I was wasted, and I was wearing a lucha mask, and only 1 eye got hurt. So i didn't know for sure what happened.
But Sunday I was generally sober, and all I did was live my life. And my contacts got so dry they scratched the surface of my eye like sandpaper.
second time in less than a year.
So the doc gave me antibiotic drops and already it felt better. That night, I could look at my phone a little.
Wednesday I still couldn't look at a monitor to work, but still felt a bit better. By the end of wednesday I could play pokemon mystery dungeon so I *finally* could do something. Oh and I think I finally was able to read again that night too.
But yeah, by Saturday my eyes were good enough to drive again. My eyes still feel weird, but I'm so glad I can see again. And I can do stuff!!
Of course Z got sick on Friday. So I hung around with him.
Saturday was the city's grass roots pride, called Queer bomb. Basically austin's pride is in june (probably to remove revolutionary ties of stonewall to pride) and its also corporate as hell. queer bomb is fun! I went with Jay, and met up with Bryn and Syd too. We had a good time and we marched and danced and stuff. I went home a little early because Jay was tired, but Im glad they did because once I sat down I realised how tired I was.
Yesterday, Sunday, I didn't do much. Mostly finished Pokemon mystery dungeon. Although it looks like there's post game content! So I'll be playing it more lol. I also went to another Lyra class. I want to work on a hard apparatus to work on my inversions in Silks.
Today I went back to the eye doctor. She said my eyes look perfectly healed. Its still hard to look at a monitor and I guess that's because my eyes are very dry. So I'm stopping my medicated drops and just putting in regular tears. Its helping already. I don't have to go back unless, like, tears don't work. But it sure seems like they will.
But yeah, there we go. I'm all caught up.
