Reply to this entry and I'll give you three subjects I don't think you know or care much about. Then you talk about those subjects in your journal!

1) Selena - excuse me? i dont care about salenas? everything for salenas. ok i'm gay, so i'm legally required to care about selena to some extent. I know all her hits and I'll happily dance to them. I think she brought cumbia to the mainstream, and bridged a gap between the older and younger hispanic folks. music is fucking magical, yall.

2) Japanese urban legends - i'm actually, secretly, a recovering weeaboo (anime fan) that said, I've racked my brain on this one. I know some folk tales, like the rabbit in the moon or tanuki (the racoons with the big balls) but i dont really feel like those are /urban/ legends.

So I'm tapping out. But since I'm tapping out that means I can google it now

ok so if you google it, the first thing is something called "gatcha life" which i think is from either some kind of game or chibi generator. the urban legend didnt seem v specific to japan. seemed like a kid just made it up. woman abandons baby so baby kills her. ho hum. Do y'all have any good japanese urban legends? I'm all ears now.

3) the language of flowers - I kind of love how open ended this is. I initially thought of grass, and how grass is sort of a single entity but when you're cutting it it releases a distress pheromone to warn the rest of hte grass. Or how aspen are also just sort of one singularity.

But neither of them are exactly flowers.

So I started thinking more about how some flowers are different colors to attract insets. maybe that is the language of flowers.

okay so i googled it and " a set of symbolic meanings attached to different flowers when they are given or arranged." OK I would have never ever guessed that.

I have a few friends who are florists, but you're right again. this is totally something i know nothing about lmao

1) salad - I was vegetarian for almost a decade so I could write a book on how I feel about salad. First off: Salads are a side- not an entree. saying you have a salad is not a meal alternative. secondly, salads without leafy greens are the best salads. I had a couscous salad thing with feta basil and grape tomatoes last night. it was pretty good.

2) fans - i love how vague this is. i could talk about fandom, or i could talk about all the fans in my house lol. it gets hot here!

I'm not much of a fan of anything. I'm really well rounded in my tastes and I dont get obsessive often. Like I think the last thing I got really consumed by was Stardew Valley.

Ive always felt like the odd person out on lj/dw since i dont have any fandom. but at this point its mostly forward momentum that keeps me journalling. i was just writing in a text document for about a year after I left lj but before I decided to move to dw. Oh I've kind of gotten off track here.

3) storage - Why would someone have so much stuff that they have stuff they pay someone else to hold on to only to never see the stuff. Maybe its because I've moved so much but I don't have a lot. I live in a tiny 1 bedroom duplex and I just make it work and I get rid of whatever doesn't. One of my closest friends really cares about stuff, like gifts and memories. physical stuff. They have storage. I think is weird but I think it more ultimately boils down to that we're just two different people. They grew up having things taken away from them, often in traumatic fashion. Which is probably why they hold on to so much. I'm grateful I didnt have that. Between that and living out of backpacks on occasion, you get pretty good at letting go.

I say this, but I had issues finding a shirt to get rid of when I got a new one (my closet is full) lol

well, that was successful.
