What have you finished reading?

The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Stephen King - The gunslinger betrays the kid he had with him in pursuit of the man in black. when the gunslinger catches up to the man in black, they just talk. It feels very spiritual yet atheist at the same time. I'll be honest, Im not the biggest stephen king fan; he tends to tell instead of show, but this was good enough that I'll probably pick up all the books once i feel comfortable going into a used book store again. Some of it may just be to feel a false sense of closeness with hodge. i dont know.

What are you currently reading?

Indestructible: Growing up Queer, Cuban, and Punk in Miami by Cristy C. Road - This is a short book I picked up at the feminist bookstore. Thus far its been fine. The book has sort of a brutish voice, and I like that, but its not particularly great prose. She talks about growing up punk, but also talks about how her foray into punk rock was seen as completely rejecting cuban culture, that punk is inherently "white". The better parts of this book are about reconciling this especially when she talks about how rejecting cuban culture is weird when cuban culture is inherently counterculture. Anyway, I'm already half way through this book, so I'll probably finish it tonight. its short. She also does art in the book and its p cool.
