Bitter Root Volume 1: Family Business by David F. Walker (Author), Chuck Brown (Author), Sanford Greene (Artist) - So... it actually was racists = demons. I guess as white folks get more racist, they become demons. I think the theme of this book was more Black Unity. There are 3 different sort of "types" of demon hunters, and while they are critical of each other, they must work together to defeat the threat in front of them. There's a vol 2 that I'll need to pick up at some point.
Ascender Volume 2: The Dead Sea by Jeff Lemire (Author), Dustin Nguyen (Artist) - Now I'm getting into continuing arcs where I can barely remember what was happening. Maya was shipped away from her family to keep her safe, she's with Telsa and her girlfriend. Meanwhile the creepy mother people are chasing them, and have infected her Maya's mom, which is pretty sad. I had thought she would be relatively immune, as she's more cyborg than human, but nope.
Giant Days Vol. 14 by John Allison (Author), Max Sarin (Illustrator)- Awwww y'all. This is the last issue of Giant Days. The girls graduate college, but what's really sad, is theres a prologue a year later and Esther is stuck in London and never visits her friends, seems depressed and unable to reach out and... idk. it was relatable. there's a happy-ish ending to the prologue but I didn't want the series to end. It was always such a delight to read.

Deadly Class Volume 9: Bone Machine by Rick Remender (Author), Wes Craig (Artist), Jordan Boyd (Artist) - Something broody sounds nice about now, but I cannot, for the life of me, remember what was happening here. I last read Vol 8 a year and a half ago. I have a feeling I may re-read this series once its all out. I think I remember Saya coming back, and there's a lot of tension between Marcus, Saya, and Maria. I'm mostly just here for Marcus' rants on depression haha.
