What are you reading Wednesday?
May. 19th, 2021 09:47 amWhat have you finished reading?
Paying the Land by Joe Sacco - This is such a dense comic, but interesting to see the ways the indigenous people of Canada were displaced and had their power taken away, as opposed to the US, where they mostly just straight up did a genocide on entire nations. I can't say this book has a happy ending, but its hopeful, which is probably the best you can hope for with the subject matter.
What are you currently reading?
Except for Palestine: The Limits of Progressive Politics by Marc Lamont Hill and Mitchell Plitnick - I've only read the forward last night, but I'm hoping to get a better grasp on israel/palastine without feeling like im eventually running into antisemitism (whihc i recognise is partially my own knee-jerk reaction). The forward was mostly "yeah, trump isnt president anymore, and thats good, but biden is just business as usual" with, like, yeah.
