What have you finished reading?

Except for Palestine: The Limits of Progressive Politics by Marc Lamont Hill and Mitchell Plitnick - I found this book incredibly useful in understanding more about the conflict between Israel and Palestine. It was one sided, but not overbearingly so (im looking at you Joe Sacco's Palestine) and iirc, one of the writers is Jewish, which helped ease my worries about running into antisemitism. If you want to understand why the left supports palestine, but are afraid of running into racist bullshit, this is a really good and accessible book to pick up.

Feed by Tommy Pico - teebs wrote Nature Poem that hit me so hard I wanted to read all of his other poetry. This is another slam dunk. Just, queer, indigenous, and delightful. When it all comes around, its a lot about relationships, and what you're feeding. But its more than that too. Idk, if you like poetry, and you're OK with things getting weird, check him out. Start with Nature Poem though. that one is still my fave.

What are you currently reading?

In Defense of Ska by Aaron Carnes - Excuse me, this book assumes I need ska defended to me? Look, buddy, i am one of the 20 other people who love ska just like you do lol. Still, the enthusiasm just leaks through the pages and actually excites me. And every time they mention a band i love (often) I get excited all over again. Right now they're talking about popular artists who have a ska past and how, like, this is treated like a bad/shameful thing, when, like, ska rules, duh. Anyway, this book is a love letter to a mutual partner but I'm still here for it 100%
