What are you reading Wednesday?
Jun. 30th, 2021 02:24 pmWhat have you finished reading?
Smoke Gets in Your Eyes: And Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty - I don't really have anything else to add to this. It was a good book, and I enjoyed it.
Bitter Root Vol. 2: Rage & Redemption by David F. Walker, Chuck Brown - this trade focuses on generational trauma and how different folks choose to deal with it. All through the context of fixing humans turned to demons because of racism.
The Black Panther Party: A Graphic Novel History by David Walker - Didn't expect this one to be by the same author. Oops? So, I'll be honest, I didn't know a lot about the Panthers, other than what happened to Fred Hampton mostly. But this book is an exercize in endless anger towards the govt, FBI, and COINTELPRO. This is why, even now, nothing changes. Nothing changes because you cant organize Black Power without being struck down. Its depressing.
What are you currently reading?
Lumberjanes Vol. 18 by Kat Leyh and Shannon Watters - I haven't started this one yet, but it is going to serve as a palate cleanser.
