Skulldigger and Skeleton Boy: From the World of Black Hammer Volume 1 by Jeff Lemire (Author), Tonci Zonjic (Illustrator) - This was pretty good. The sidekick is not really saved, since skulldigger is definitely an antihero, but winds up eventually getting rescued and adopted.
Winnebago Graveyard by Steve Niles (Author), Alison Sampson (Author, Artist) - a horror comic about a satanic cult that does human sacrifice. i didn't love it, but it did horror well and was legitimately unnerving.
Isola Volume 2 by Brenden Fletcher (Author), Karl Kerschl (Author, Artist), Msassyk (Artist) - the queen is turned into a lion and her guard is trying to keep her safe and break the curse. i mostly just love how heavy it is on lesbian stuff. its v gay.
You Don't Say by Nate Powell (Author) - Nate powell shorts. I'm a fan of his work, but nothing here really stood out too much.
Tiny Giants by Nate Powell (Illustrator) - More shorts from Nate Powell, but these are way more abstract, brooding, and... amateur. Interesting to see him before he was fully formed, I suppose.
Habitat by Roy Simon (Author, Artist) - Sci fi comic where, its like ... its kind of hard to follow but i think its like 1 ecosystem that has splintered into all these violent factions. I think its trying to do some modern commentary, but its a little too abstract to make its point.
Fourteen Poems: Issue Three: An anthology of the best new queer poetry - I've been pretty into poetry lately. At least poetry written by queer folks. So I jumped and bought several issues of this. I really enjoyed them. Some of them stuck pretty well.

Bicycling with Butterflies: My 10,201-Mile Journey Following the Monarch Migration by Sara Dykman (Author) - I always joked i was going to hitchhike the entire monarch migration and now i hear someone is doing it on a bike!? Jealous!!!
