A Dance with Dragons by George R R Martin -

so i got to the part where it would have been sansa's rape, which was particularly upsetting in the show. instead, this is a commoner girl named jayne and it is still rape but it isnt near as evil/traumatic and i just wanted to say that now reading this part in the book, the backlash was right and d&d were just being fucking ucky. otherwise book is fine. The political stuff with Jon is more boring in the book, but the Dorne stuff is 1000% better. i think tonight or tomorrow ill finally reach half way and i'll be able to take a break and maybe read some lighter comics, which is 100% what i need right now.

I was so pissed at the show for how they took the awesome Dorne characters and did nothing with them.

that should have been our first warning that, when deviating from text, d&d do poorly.
