The Book of Dust: La Belle Sauvage (Book of Dust, Volume 1) by Philip Pullman (Author) - Baby Lyra is with some nuns. Malcolm is an informant for a theoretical theologian who is studying stuff the church has banned. the church has gotten children to sign up for this thing called the society of alexander. its based on a story of a kid who ratted on his parents for being blasphemous and got his parents killed. this is celebrated as a great thing, as jesus is more important than parents. Sometimes I forget how delightfully atheist this book can be and then it happens and it warms the cackles of my heart. Anyway, Lord Asriel wants to see Lyra, and is allowed to, and then escapes on Malcolms canoe.
