Lovecraft Country by Matt Ruff - I'm closer to the end here. Leticia's sister, Ruby, gets wrapped up with the cultists and is given a potion that can make her a white woman temporarily. She enjoys not getting treated like garbage, so she decides to go into work with the cultist. It seems like all these plot threads are about to come together.
