What have you finished reading?

Deadly Class Volume 9: Bone Machine by Rick Remender (Author), Wes Craig (Artist), Jordan Boyd (Artist) - the metal guy goes apeshit, gets killed by marias bf. im p sure marcus killed marias bf, or possibly maria. he shot someone, anyway. I assume that volume 10 will be the last one. A lot of folks are dead at this point.

Nature Poem by Tommy Pico (Author) - A queer ndn cannot bring himself to write a poem about nature. This is part poetry, part prose, but really fantastic read. In between hookups he talks about the complicated relationship he has to his home, the city, and his ancestors. Its a short read, but I loved it and I might pick up some other books he's written.

Black Science Volume 9: No Authority But Yourself by Rick Remender (Author), Matteo Scalera (Artist) - I figured I was due reading another week of graphic novels. This is the end of Black Science and it was a good ending... at least as good as you could expect. Basically they get stuck in a dimension where there is no chaos, and it seems the main character is the only one who hates this. But eventually they escape this time loop, kill the bad guy and seem to jump into a dimension where everything is okay. And thats that, i guess. I was, again, mostly in this for remenders brooding.

East of West Volume 10 by Jonathan Hickman (Author), Nick Dragotta (Artist) - Another graphic novel series come to an end. Babylon and the other horsemen meet up with death, death kills most of the horsemen, babylon kills the last. death dies. the confederacy guy dies. babylon and his mom reunited but its bittersweet without death. This was a fun comic, although there were certainly times i didn't know wtf was happening.

Sword Daughter Volume 3: Elsbeth of the Island by Brian Wood (Author), Mack Chater (Illustrator), Lauren Affe (Illustrator) - Another series ending. Elsbeth is in northumberland and basically starts killing christians and burning churches, which is absolutely delightful tbh. The sad/strange part that despite her loyalty toward being a pagan, and her anger toward the church, when she goes back to iceland she winds up marrying a christian.

Gideon Falls Volume 4: The Pentoculus by Jeff Lemire (Author), Andrea Sorrentino (Artist), Dave Stewart (Artist) - as much as I love lemire and his story telling, I really hate the art in this book. Ive felt this way for a while, but its gotten pretty distracting. Anyway, another multiple dimensions story, the priest and the boy switch worlds, but try to figure out what the black barn is, how to destroy it, and get back to their respective dimensions. While this was more of a horror comic before, the horror is becoming more cringe (because the visuals are so lame) but it feels like its leaning more sci-fi anyway. idk.

A City Inside by Tillie Walden (Author) - Tillie, a new indie darling that is writing a ton of quality graphic novels, writes another banger. its essentially about growing up, growing old, and how we come of age several times in our lives. It feels very miyazaki-y and just really moved me.

Die Volume 2: Split the Party by Kieron Gillen (Author), Stephanie Hans (Artist) - This is a comic about a DnD gang trapped in a game. 1 person had been lost in the game for years. when the group decided to reunite irl, they got stuck in the world again. They found their friend, but they all most agree to end the game and go home in order to leave, and that doesn't seem to be happening.
