Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk by Legs McNiel and Gillian McCain - OK I hadn't done a good job truly writing how I felt about this book. The beginning 100 or so pages includes proto punk bands i never really cared about, like MC5 or Velvet underground. Once I was about a quarter of the way in they start talking about the New York Dolls. And half way, I couldnt put the book down once they were talking about the Ramones and shit-talking the sex pistols. Theres a lot of drug guy content. but really not too different from my pals growing up. Ive always been more inclined to stay away from heavy shit, and the ending really reinforces this tbh. Johnny Thunders' death was way fucking sadder than I knew.

Outlawed by Anna North - This is a gay shop book club choice for July; I need to hustle to get through it. But its only about 250 pages, so it shouldn't be that hard. Also I wish this book had come with a CW for pregnancy and infertility. A alternate western where people worship baby Jesus ( as opposed to regular type. also the lack of a capital on b bothers me) Anyway, she cant get pregnant, fucks another guy just to try to get a baby (and not get divorced/ostracized cuz they worship babies. A weird dumb lie gets her caught and she goes to a convent. OK so shes willing to lie, so why not just say she lied about her lie. Shed still have to leave the town but the weird plot hole would be gone. Additionally she leaves the convent, asks to go to... someplace where the study infertility. the main nun/mother is like u can stay here, or you can go live with outlaws. WHY would they send her to outlaws instead of this infertility research place???? will an outlaw take her there??? convenient plot device???? there better be a better reason. this book captures my imagination, but everyone's dialogue, reasoning, and logic baffle me.
