What have you finished reading?
The Goddamned, Volume 2: The Virgin Brides by Jason Aaron (Author), R.M. Guera (Artist), Giulia Brusco (Artist) - An interesting take on the genesis story that happens just before the flood. But it comes with all the content warnings.
Outcast Volume 6: Invasion by Robert Kirkman (Author), Paul Azaceta (Artist), Elizabeth Breitweiser (Artist) - I'm glad I'm not paying full price for this one, because its good not great. Uh the demons are going to war with the outcast. Has a twist at the end. There's two more trades. Hopefully I'll find them at some point.
What are you currently reading?
The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo (Author) - God, I am sorry. This is my book club book and its so fucking YA. The format is actually p neat, because its centered on the author and almost like a lyrical memoir. However, the way she unabashedly writes about boys seems so stupid and unrealistic to me. I feel like if I cringe as an adult, maybe kids are cringing too? Who knows.
Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds by Adrienne Maree Brown - I'm reading this one with Toria and its good thus far, just sort of about how natural paths can be used to create revolutionary change. Very fucking taoist, but also a little too passive for our literal and figurative climate imho. But I'm only part-way in.
Seven to Eternity Volume 3: Rise to Fall by Rick Remender (Author), Jerome Opena (Artist), Matt Hollingsworth (Artist) - I haven't opened this yet. It just exists as a palate cleanser when I'm done with other stuff.
