what are you reading wednesday?
Feb. 27th, 2019 02:14 pmWhat have I finished reading:
The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling by Aubrey Sitterson and Chris Moreno - Oh man, this book was so good I stayed up really late each night reading it. There was a ton of early wrestling history stuff I didn't know. And even the stuff I did know about the monday night wars and stuff was just written and illustrated in an entertaining way. This book is the shit.
Giant Days 2 and 3 (trades) by John Allison- So this is a spin off from a webcomic i used to read, although i couldn't remember any of that tbh. but its a good slice of life comedy comic about 3 girls in college. its fast and generally light reading. The two issues sort of follow an arc one of the girls getting a bf and then him dumping her cuz she isn't making the time for him. another plot is about how one of the girls is a lesbian but tries kissing a guy just to be sure. fluff like that.
Our Expanding Universe by Alex Robinson - Alex is the indie comic slice of life god, but this book sort of fell flat with me. Its about 30somethings and having babies. The couple struggling to conceive do so immediately at the start of the book, which sure is convenient. This author usually writes likable characters, but made the childfree character just unbearable. It really bothered me because I really think CF folks have important things to say even if I don't always agree. but whatever.
What am I reading:
Curveball by Jeremy Sorese- Z bought this for me promising gay stuff, which is usually a slam dunk for me and books. Thus far it seems like some sort of post-apocalyptic story where technology is "dying" and we don't know how to cope? This better get gayer. the art/colors are neat at least.
