what are you reading wednesday?
Sep. 4th, 2019 10:57 amWhat have you finished reading:
Cucumber Quest: The Ripple Kingdom Paperback by Gigi D.G. (Author) - Cucumber saves their pals and defeats the squid thing. The Ripple Kingdom is saved. The gang is on to the Melody Kingdom to collect more magical stuff to defeat the big bad.
Gender Queer: A Memoir by Maia Kobabe - I thought I'd be able to relate to this more. Its about a genderqueer (non binary) person's coming out. Its beautifully put and I like eir way of doing things. Eir uses pronouns I hadn't seen before so thats cool (but I also am spelling the pronouns wrong). But its very unlike my journey at all. And thats okay. Theres many, many ways to be nonbinary. Just thought I was going to be able to relate more.
Die Volume 1: Fantasy Heartbreaker by Kieron Gillen (Author), Stephanie Hans (Artist) - 6 pals play a D&D type game and get sucked in. 5 pals escape. 1 is stuck there. 20 years later they get together and are all sucked in again. the person they lost is still there. They need to get out. And maybe save their friend.
Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton - So I read this while I was in OKC. I assumed I'd maybe make it through half the book but I got through the whole damn thing p quickly. This book is phenomenally sexist and the prose is p meh, but yes, somehow, I've never seen the movie and figured I'd read the book first. Looking past the sexism its a quick easy read. y'all dont need a plot synopsis, right? all yall know what happens lol
What are you currently reading:
Sleepless Volume 1 by Sarah Vaughn (Author), del Duca, Leila (Artist), Alissa Sallah (Artist) - I literally picked this up off the 'to-read' pile when I couldn't sleep last night. no clue what its about, but it looks pretty. I think its a fantasy/romance comic.
