Feb. 13th, 2021 01:05 pmSo. Our place isn’t insulated. Which is abnormal even for Texas. Usually it just means that I can hear my upstairs neighbor’s footsteps.
We don’t have central heat. That’s a little normal down here. We just use space heaters. I only have two but in the winter it usually keeps the front room around 60 and the bedroom at 70.
We’re seeing unprecedented cold down here. My front room can’t seem to hit anything past 50 unless I bring both space heaters in 1 room. The bedroom maybe gets to 65.
We’re gonna see single digit weather for the first time since I been down here. Z said he’s never seen single digit weather here either, cept maybe the Texas panhandle.
I’m glad I have some electric blankets but man shit sucks. The bluebonnets were already coming out. It’s February which means usually the start of spring down here. I’m from the north so I know how to deal with shit but gosh I moved to get away from this kind of weather.
In other news, there was some food delivery on my porch. It was there at like 4am. Either one of the neighbors who live here ordered it and forgot, or they delivered to the wrong place. I let it sit for 16 hours before deciding it must have been abandoned. It turned out to be porch pasta. I don’t have too many enemies so I don’t think anyone is trying to kill me. I ate it this morning and it was fine.
