Oooof. Here's to hoping I'll post a real entry soon. Busy busy and I'd been tired of bein sick.
What have you finished reading?
Where Black Stars Rise by Nadia Shammas (Author), Marie Enger (Author) - The art in this is amazing, but I found the story to only be so-so. It focuses on the patient-client relationship beteen a psych student and a schizophrenic client. Art rules though.
No One Else by R. Kikuo Johnson (Author) - Another one that had been on my list, but only good not great. This one is about grief and loss and coping. Its honestly really good but ends really flatly. With a better ending this would have been a winner.
Mimosa by Archie Bongiovanni (Author) - Oh shit, this is the same author of grease bats. Okay, so this is kind of similar. very 2020s Dykes to watch out for. Its 4 queer friends and their queer struggles. But also their friendships really start to fall apart. I, ofc, releated to the anarcho queer punk the most, and idk. The ending was almost bittersweet. And I'm sure it was the intention. But I wanted a happy ending? But this was really good. Def worth a read.
Flamer by Mike Curato (Author, Illustrator) - A queer boy scout struggles with being gay in his troop. Its honestly pretty good, and takes seriously being a suicidal teen. I could relate to it a lot, especially because the book is based in the mid-late 90s which is around when I realized I was gay too.

Continuous Discovery Habits: Discover Products that Create Customer Value and Business Value by Teresa Torres (Author) - No progress this week.
The Hills of Estrella Roja by Ashley Robin Franklin (Author, Illustrator) - I really love this artist. This, as far as I know, is her first large work and its been so so good. Part sapphic love story, part paranormal mystery. It also is an obvious love letter to texas, and it almost makes me homesick (almost).
