What have you finished reading:

Curveball by Jeremy Sorese - this was p good, and did get gayer. the main character is nonbinary which is cool. but theres a lot about the devolution of technology that isn't talked about at all. its all relationships, mostly, which is cool. i love that sort of thing. but im so intrigued by the world they built that i wish it could get expanded upon more. then again, i guess me thinking about it in my head is doing more than the author just spelling it all out so maybe thats the point.

What are you currently reading:

Death in Big Bend by Laurence Parent - Hah. I've been hooked on these death in national parks books since Death in Yellowstone. Its basically a bunch of stories about idiots or unlucky folks in Big Bend. Although one of the chapters didn't involve death, but a near death experience. But it actually was that chapter that now makes me wonder on each new person if they're going to make it or not (spoilers, everyone else has died lol). The book is okay, but its treatment of some folks that crossed the border illegally, and a gay man has been... noticeably terrible, especially for a book written in 2010. I'm looking past it, but it stands out.

I'm reading a book about a guy hiking the Appalachian Trail who reads a book on the trail about deaths on the trail! That would spook me but that sort of thing is kind of interesting. I guess it's not likely on the AT but you feel for the two women who were murdered a couple years ago for seemingly no reason.
