What are you currently reading?

Moby Dick by Herman Melville - I'm behind a couple chapters right now, but I hope to catch up v soon! Which is an elaborate way of saying "No progress this week".

Parable of the Talents by Octavia E. Butler - This is riveting and well written but its hard for me to understand the animosity the daughter has toward her mother. I get the last book was a creation story, and this is the deconstruction, but also I've been really into playing Stardew Valley right now, so I haven't been a good reader lately.

First, Stardew Valley is excellent. I'm on maybe my 6th farmer - he is named Jane and wears hot pink pants and a black top. Just got the bus up and running and I won't say more because I don't know if you're avoiding spoilers :)

Octavia Butler blows my mind. I read Parable of the Sower so long ago that I don't remember much, but I remember being gobsmacked. I tried to read Parable of the Talents a few years ago, but at the time her writing seemed so exciting to me that I kept pausing over different sections, and eventually had to give it back to the library. I should try again.
