What are you reading Wednesday?
Apr. 7th, 2021 07:01 amWhat have you finished reading?
On a Sunbeam by Tillie Walden (Author)- I just really love all of Tillie's stuff. This is such a long read though, so I had been putting it off for a while now. This is a slow burn romance story about two girls in love but separated. She goes across the galaxies to find her again, just to see her and even see if there was still something there. I'm a sucker for a sweet love story. Also, I couldn't sleep, so I surprisingly got through this tome quickly.
Mashbone & Grifty by Rolando Esquivel and Oscar Garza - I kickstarted this comic because one of the creators is a local indie wrestler. The comic is about two dudes, one inexplicably a caveman, who are amateur detectives to hide the fact that they're both kinda losers. This comic was fun, but it could have used the really awesome art more to tell the story. Instead, they rely a bit too much on words. But the art is really unique, which was a big draw to me kick starting it in the first place. My favorite of the 4 stories was the one on football.
Spit Drip by Archie Bongiovanni - Short little zine with poems and pictures. The art is really cool and what drew me in. And maybe I've been depressed for so long that I like poetry, because here is, again, more poetry that resonated with me and I enjoyed it.
Just One Ten Minutes by Sunmi - Another short zine comic I picked up on a whim about 4 people mostly just having fun at a place called the lost sidewalk but also a near death experience. You know, all those times in your life you were like "oh shit, if this had been late/early, i'd've died". Those moments stick with you.

Axiom's End by Lindsay Ellis - Its cool to still like Lindsay Ellis, right? I haven't started the book yet. Just got it off the pile.
